1-1/2" hole for Eastern Bluebirds and tree swallows.
These birdhouses are made from a unique blend of 75% pine sawdust, burnt clay and other natural materials, formed and baked to provide a nesting home for birds that is healthy for them and which will last for 20 years or more in your garden. This remarkable material actually "breathes" like wood. Yet it is completely rotproof and the non-toxic brown paint on the roof and sides sheds water like a duck's back. Resistant to damage by squirrels and raccoons. Seven models, with entry holes specially sized for American birds.
How to clean a Schwegler Birdhouse
Late February is the ideal time to clean out your birdhouses. Old nests should be removed in case they harbor harmful mites. And new ones should be ready in place for the male Bluebird scouts, when they're looking for nest sites in March.

This product was made to last!
It’s very heavy but I think that’s what it makes this bird house indestructible. It’s a bit pricey in compared with what’s out there but if you love birds you want to make sure they won’t get killed but other creatures . Also, It arrived very well packed, Thank you,

good design
I bought two of these, probably in 2010. The tree swallows love them and are very entertaining! Last year the bottom fell out of one and the front fell out and broke when it hit the ground. I jury rigged it with some wood and the birds used it, but this spring it was beyond repair. I bought another one and the birds are moving right in! Grerat product!!!

1 1/2 inch Predator Proof Birdhouse
Well built easy to hang birdhouse. Easy to open for cleaning. Blue birds and Swallows love it.

Predators Be Gone
Built like a tank. Looks like it will keep predators out. Time will tell - I will move to a 5 if it succeeds where my standard Blue Bird houses have failed.

bluebird house
this is the second predator proof bluebird house if have purchased from Kinsman Garden. I bought the first one several years ago-it still looks new and every year at least twice a summer the birds raise a nest of three young! The new box was occupied one day after it was put up!

So Far So Good
We mounted the bird house in an area with few trees and facing the morning sun so we hope to have occupants this spring. Fingers crossed!

Can't Recommend Enough
We have had a number of these wonderful birdhouses in our yard for over 5 years, and the birds LOVE them! We have had Bluebirds, Carolina Chickadees, and most often white-breasted Nuthatches call these boxes home and raise clutches successfully! I will try and insert a photo that I took today, February 24, 2024 of our resident Nuthatches getting ready for the spring!
