Hanging Basket Liners

Hanging Basket Liners

Give your hanging baskets a fresh start with replacement liners sized and shaped to fit Kinsman's classic wire hanging baskets. Our preformed coco fiber liners drop in without trimming or adjusting, and with regular seasonal use you can expect two to three planting seasons from each liner before it needs replacing.

We carry liners for our standard round hanging baskets in medium and large sizes, as well as shaped liners for our conical hanging baskets. Each liner is preformed with natural coco fiber and ready to plant immediately after installation with no reshaping required.

To find the right liner, match the diameter of your basket to the liner size listed on each product page. If you are unsure of your basket size, measure across the top from rim to rim. For help choosing, call us at 1-800-733-4129.

Frequently Asked Questions About Hanging Basket Liners

  • What size replacement liner do I need for my hanging basket?

To find the right size liner, measure across the top of your hanging basket from rim to rim; that is the diameter. Then measure the depth from the top rim straight down to the base. Match those measurements to the liner dimensions listed on each product page. For round wire hanging baskets, the most common sizes are in the 14 to 24 inch diameter range. If you are between sizes, it is generally better to choose the liner that is slightly larger rather than too small, as the coco fiber will settle and conform to the basket over time.

  • How often should I replace a hanging basket liner?

Most hanging basket liners last two to three growing seasons with regular outdoor use. Over time, the coco fiber naturally thins and breaks down, especially at the base where it stays moist most consistently. Signs that a liner needs replacing include visible thinning, soil washing through during watering, or gaps between the liner and the basket frame. When any of these appear, a fresh liner will restore full moisture retention and keep your display looking its best.

  • What is the difference between a preformed liner and a flat coco liner for hanging baskets?

Preformed or molded liners are shaped into a deep round tub using natural coco fiber and latex, so they hold the form of your basket without any cutting or shaping. They are ready to drop in and plant immediately. Flat coco liner material, sold as rolls or cut sheets, requires shaping to fit the basket and is better suited for non-standard sizes or situations where a preformed liner is not available. For standard round Kinsman hanging baskets, the preformed liner is the easier and more precise option.

  • Can I use a hanging basket liner in a hayrack planter or wall basket?

No; hanging basket liners are shaped for round wire baskets and will not fit the curved rectangular profile of a hayrack planter or the half-round profile of a wall basket. Kinsman carries separate replacement liners sized for each planter type. For hayrack planters, see our Hayrack Liner collection. For wall baskets, see our Wall Basket Liner collection.
