We are very excited to re-introduce the Slug Gone Wool Pellets!

Slug Gone forms a naturally effective barrier against slugs and snails. It is produced in England from 100% waste wool which is formed into pellets. Place the pellets around a plant and water in. Once wet, the pellets will swell and "self-felt" to form a mat that slugs and snails will not cross. It's the hooks and barbs in the wool fibers (what makes it itchy) that irritates slugs and snails while also drawing moisture from their "foot."

The pellets also act as a bio-degradable mulch to retain moisture and as a weed barrier to control weeds. One application lasts an entire season - it will not wash out or blow away. Use in the garden
or in containers.

Safe around children, pets and vegetables.

    No Slugs!

Posted by Joseph Kochansky on Mar 1st 2022

For several years we have been using these wool pellets in our raised strawberry beds. We have not lost any berries to slugs. None. We've been gardening for 50+ years and tried various methods and products. These pellets are the best.

    No dessert for Slugs

Posted by Joe & Pat Kochansky on Mar 12th 2021

In the 4 years or so that we have been using the Slug Gone Wool Pellets in our raised beds, we have not lost a single strawberry to slugs. A great product that is safe, effective, and easy to apply.

Too bad -- I really wanted this to work.

Posted by George from Oregon on Jun 11th 2020

Had high hopes for this. Every year when the Dahlia's sprout -- I do not dig them -- snails and slugs are a major battle. Supposedly they would not crawl (slime?) over this product. Sadly, no one informed the slugs or snails. I had lots of the pellets completely surrounding my most damaged plants. Still had to remove them from the plants and kill them after they crawled over the pellets -- yes, the wool had been wet -- to munch away.

    Only one problem

Posted by Jean on Apr 13th 2019

I may never know if these work to repel slugs as my two rescue weims gobble them up the minute my back is turned. So they may very well keep the slugs away from my hostas, but I will never know as they attract dogs!

For the first time in 45 years of gardening our strawberries were totally free of slugs. Slug Gone absolutely worked for us.
