    Handsome obelisk

Posted by Geoffrey Selling on Apr 5th 2025

It was easy to put together, sturdy and very handsome. It is sitting in the flower bed awaiting the arrival of the clematis that will climb on it but I think it'll look very nice with a rich purple clematis winding around it. It came promply, was well packed and ALL the parts were there. Directjons written by a non-first language English speaker, as usual, but we found some of the wording funny, rather than confusing. Every time I've ordered from Kinsman, I've liked their products and service.

    Obelisk & website

Posted by ARome on Jun 27th 2024

I received an email after I placed my order telling me this medium obelisk was sold out and to contact the company for possible replacements. When I called to ask if they expected any restock (as I always see this item yearly in every catalog) the lady was noncommittal and suggested the large obelisk instead. As large would be too large for the intended space, I declined. But I would suggest the website at least be updated to indicate the sellout, as most websites do. Also, as the item is always listed in the catalog, could the company not add me to a wait list when the item becomes available? Unfortunately was not impressed by the service and efficiency of Kinsman with this order.

I ordered one of these structures early this year because of the supply chain issues. It came in in less than a week. after easily assembling it, we were so impressed that I ordered another one! love this company, have used them for years.

    Looks Good. Easy Assembly

Posted by John R Joyner on Jul 25th 2019

This item arrived today and we assembled it within an hour. It mounts into the ground by simply pushing the stakes in--seems to work well enough. All-in-all the Obelisk looks good. A few caveats though:Assembly takes some physical effort to get nuts and bolts to fit.The rings must be mounted on the inside (the instructions clearly state this, but it's almost intuitive to try and do it the other way).Nuts and bolts are not the highest quality and did not come with lock washers. On the upside they will probably lock up from rust before they come loose. The vertical segments stack but there is no hardware to hold them together. This might be a problem in a near-term windstorm, but the rose should hold everything together once it's established onto the trellis.Though the unit, the instructions and the packaging say China, it still looks good and will probably serve the purpose.

    Buyer

I purchased rose pillars from you several years ago. From the photo looked like the same thing.....not. Very difficult to put together, flimsier. I had to put liquid nails to hold together. *** We're very sorry you are disappointed in your new rose pillar. We did change suppliers which might account for the differences you noticed. ***

It's quite nice, but after a few years it rusts. I need to prime and repaint mine.

    Not copper but good enough

Posted by Beate Jensen on Apr 25th 2015

I wish you carried this in copper, I have some from years ago and I like the way they look better. These are nice, a pain to put together, the wrapping is a challenge, but sturdy. The medium is quite big, look forward to seeing my roses growing up them.
