This extra large coconut coir brick is a convenient, high-value growing medium for all kinds of planting and gardening projects. Made from coco fiber, a completely natural byproduct of the huge coconut growing industry from Sri Lanka, this compressed coco brick expands quickly with water to create a loose, moisture-retentive medium that supports healthy root growth and strong early development for a wide range of plants.
Ideal for containers, hanging baskets, raised beds, seed starting, and cuttings, these coco coir bricks help improve drainage while still holding the moisture roots need. Use this coconut coir brick on its own for certain applications or blend it with compost, potting mix, or other amendments to create a lighter, more workable medium for planting. It is especially useful when you want a clean, easy-to-store option for container gardening and soil mixing.
Because coir is porous, it promotes good air circulation around roots while helping reduce compaction. This makes it an excellent choice for gardeners looking for a dependable coconut brick soil ingredient for seedling mixes, container arrangements, and general garden use. It is weed free, 100% natural, and supports healthy growing conditions for all kinds of plants.
This 11 lb. compressed block expands approximately 5 to 1 and makes about 20 gallons. Whether you are refreshing containers, filling raised beds, rooting cuttings, or preparing soil for new plants, this extra large coco coir brick is an easy, practical addition to your gardening supplies.

Large coco-fiber block
I love having a large quantity of coir for mixing up my own potting soil. We here in America are way behind the UK in finding substitutes for peat, a non-renewable product. Coir is the answer, mixed with compost, perlite, vermiculite, whatever you want.
