Replacement Liners

Replacement Liners

Every Kinsman planter is designed to be used with a coco fiber liner, and every liner is designed to be replaced. Replacing your liner whenever you notice thinning or wear keeps your planter performing at its best and gives each new planting a clean, fresh start.

We carry replacement liners for all Kinsman planter styles. Choose from hayrack liners in sizes made to fit the Euro Classic, Wall, Expandable, and Lamppost hayrack planters; hanging basket liners for our classic and large-format hanging baskets; wall basket liners shaped for our half-round and flat-back wall planters; patio planter liners; freestanding planter liners; and bulk liner rolls for custom or large-scale planting projects. Replacement liners for Pamela Crawford containers are also available in their own section.

Please note that our supplier is now sending many of the pre-molded liners folded. This change helps to reduce shipping costs and the liner will bounce back into shape once placed in the planter and filled with soil.

Frequently Asked Questions About Replacement Liners

  • What is a replacement liner for a planter?

A replacement liner is a preformed insert made of natural coco fiber that sits inside a wire or ironwork planter to hold soil and plants in place. The liner's open fiber structure allows for drainage and air circulation while retaining enough moisture to support healthy plant growth. Over time, coco fiber liners naturally thin and break down. Replacing the liner refreshes your planter's function and appearance without replacing the planter itself.

  • Which replacement liner fits my Kinsman planter?

The right liner depends on your planter style and size. Hayrack planters (Euro Classic, Wall, Expandable, and Lamppost styles) each have liners sized and shaped for their specific profiles. Hanging baskets and wall baskets use round or half-round liners matched by diameter and depth. Patio planters and freestanding planters have their own liner shapes. Each sub-category on this page includes sizing details. If you are unsure of your planter model or size, measure the interior length (for hayrack planters) or diameter (for round baskets) and match it to the liner size listed on the product page.

  • How often should replacement liners be replaced?

With regular seasonal use, Kinsman's coco fiber liners typically hold up for two to three planting seasons. Signs that a liner is ready to be replaced include visible thinning at the base, soil escaping during watering, or gaps forming between the liner and the basket frame. If you notice any of these, a fresh liner will hold in the soil, restore full moisture retention and give your planting a clean start.

The exception is liners with side planting holes, such as those used with Pamela Crawford containers. The additional openings mean the liner works harder each season, so annual replacement is recommended for those.

  • Are Kinsman replacement liners made to fit Kinsman planters specifically?

Yes. Kinsman's replacement liners are sized and shaped to fit the dimensions of Kinsman planter styles. The curved profiles of the Euro Classic hayrack liner, the half-round wall basket liner, and the other liner types in this section are shaped to the specific Kinsman planters they are designed for. They may also fit similarly sized planters from other manufacturers, but sizing can vary. Always compare the length, width, and depth of your planter to the liner dimensions before ordering.

  • What is the difference between a liner and a bulk liner roll?

Pre-formed replacement liners are molded into the shape of a specific planter style and are ready to drop in without any cutting or fitting. Bulk liner rolls are flat sheets of coco fiber material sold by the roll, designed to be cut to fit custom sizes, unusually large planters, or situations where a pre-formed liner is not available. If your planter has a standard Kinsman size, a pre-formed liner is the easier choice. If you are working with a non-standard size or need to line multiple different planters from one material, a bulk liner roll offers more flexibility.
