July is when we take cuttings to create new camellia plants. I used the 3 sets of coco fiber root trainers to start my camellias. This is my first year using them but the advantages I see are the coco fibers will allow the roots to pass through and I will be able to see how well the developing roots are progressing. This will tell me when to up pot them. Further, since I do not have to remove the cuttings from the coco fiber trainers I will not disturb the roots when up potting. Another advantage is that it is so hot and humid here that the coco fiber trainer will allow the soil to dry out and the roots will not rot from too much moisture. I'm happy to send photos if you want them.
