we were looking for a very sturdy support for our suet and seed feeders, one that hopefully will not get immediately knocked into by our numerous local bears. I think this one fits the Bill! We still take it in at night, however, to be on the safe side.

These are definitely heavy duty. They are made from 5/8" square steel rod. I recently purchased four of the London Baskets (14") that Kinsman sells, and hung them on two hanger poles purchased a few years ago from a chain home & garden store; those are made from 3/8" square steel rod, and had been supporting 10" hanging pots with no problems. Well, at first the London Baskets were just fine, until we got a couple of inches of rain over a few days. The London Baskets got heavy enough with all the moisture to bend the 3/8" poles completely over! I saw these, and decided to give them a try. They work great! Being almost double the thickness of the home & garden store poles, they are very, very sturdy, and support the 14" baskets with no problems. They look great, and I expect them to hold up for a long time. I had no problems pressing them into the ground, although nice heavy work boots and a big rubber mallet did help. Two small issues keep me from giving them 5 stars. First, they come in a box in three pieces. They are packaged in such a way that they are protected well from outside damage, but the pieces rub against each other during shipping, resulting in areas where the paint gets scratched off. For the two that I ordered, I had to take some black enamel paint and touch up the scratched areas. Second, the sleeve that connects the two pieces of the vertical pole doesn't fit tight enough, which results in the top section being able to shift side to side just a small amount, which makes the pole seem slightly crooked. Again, both cranes that I ordered are like this. I believe a small piece of thick tape or a very thin shim will take care of it. Two minor issues, but I didn't expect them at this price point. Overall, I am very happy with these, and I do highly recommend! Thank you Kinsman!

Made in India. Very strong and sturdy. Exactly what I hoped for! Goes deep for maximum support: steel is thick so I needed to really dig a hole--can't just push it in the ground. I'm very happy with this product.
