Coir (coconut fiber) is a completely natural byproduct of the huge coconut growing industry of the island of Sri Lanka. Coir is an excellent growing medium for all kinds of containers and baskets. Improves other potting mixes when you blend them together. It retains plenty of moisture, but is very porous which allows for good air circulation and healthy root development of seedlings and cuttings. It is sterilized for freedom from weeds and plant pathogens.

This product is OMRI certified ORGANIC.

After using coconut coir from a different source, I knew it was something for my garden. I shopped around, read the reviews and purchased the big block. It is a solid pc and it is large. I took the idea from one of the reviews and used a pry bar to chisel it into smaller sections to use easier. There is one direction that works better than the other. It has been just what I needed for my garden of raised beds and containers. I will purchase again.

While the picture was for a large block, it arrived in small brick sizes which turned out to be easily to use, storing the unused until need arises.

This was by far the best deal for this amount of product! It was shipped promptly and arrived in perfect condition.
