As their name suggests, these most unusual terracotta pots were designed and invented in Australia. Down Under Pots are now made in Thailand under license. Down Under Pots are all handmade, so there are frequent variations. Exact dimension and colors can change according to firing temperatures in the kilns. Surface finishes may develop fine crackling lines (crazing) over time. This is normal and enhances the character of the pots.

Small pot is 7 3/4" high x 6" diameter

Medium pot is 9 1/2" high x 7 1/2" diameter

Large pot is 11 3/4" high x 9 1/2" diameter

Foliage plants look stunning year round in kitchens, by windows - even in a bathroom. And there's a rainbow of colors to suit any decor.

The Down Under Pots are NOT frostproof and should be protected against freezing during the winter.

Planting Suggestions

Annuals: Annuals tend to grow faster, try: Lobelias, Begonias, Dianthus, Impatiens, Coleus

Perennials: Perennials will take longer to grow, but it is well worth it. Roses, Fuchsias, Geraniums and Succulents all do well. Miniature varieties are especially adaptable.

Herbs: Herbs can also be planted in the top once the bottom plant is established. Parsley, chives, Mint, Sage, Coriander, Rosemary, Lavender and Aloe Vera, to name a few.

The color was not as pictured. The blue was darker instead of a country blue and the "spots" were supposed to be blue but were a a brownish color. Not at all what the picture looked like or what I had seen at shows where these were featured. It was all dusty and not in its own box like the others I have purchased at shows. I think I got one that was old maybe. Anyway, will cost too much to send it back so I will keep it but will not gift it as I had intended. Not satisfied with the color of this product at all. **** We're sorry you are not happy with the color of your pot. As indicated on our website and in our catalog, glaze colors can definitely vary from firing to firing. While we do try to provide photos from the most recent shipment, sizes and colors that didn't need to be reordered can certainly be quite different. The particular size and color that you purchased was indeed from an older shipment which is why it differs from the current photo. Also, our pots are not individually boxed so the ones you've purchased previously were from a different vendor.****

I brought the pot for my mother's birthday and had it shipped to California. It is in perfect condition. She liked it so much she's challenged to put it outside. I sent her the photo contest pictures to give her ideas. She still wants to put it in the house. Baby steps....
