As their name suggests, these most unusual terracotta pots were designed and invented in Australia. Down Under Pots are now made in Thailand under license. Down Under Pots are all handmade, so there are frequent variations. Exact dimension and colors can change according to firing temperatures in the kilns. Surface finishes may develop fine crackling lines (crazing) over time. This is normal and enhances the character of the pots.

Currently only available in the medium size which is 9 1/2" high x 7 1/2" diameter.

Foliage plants look stunning year round in kitchens, by windows - even in a bathroom. And there's a rainbow of colors to suit any decor.

The Down Under Pots are NOT frostproof and should be protected against freezing during the winter.

Planting Suggestions

Annuals: Annuals tend to grow faster, try: Lobelias, Begonias, Dianthus, Impatiens, Coleus

Perennials: Perennials will take longer to grow, but it is well worth it. Roses, Fuchsias, Geraniums and Succulents all do well. Miniature varieties are especially adaptable.

Herbs: Herbs can also be planted in the top once the bottom plant is established. Parsley, chives, Mint, Sage, Coriander, Rosemary, Lavender and Aloe Vera, to name a few.

The items I ordered are to be a gift. I do have a pot which I have used the last two summers. I think they are unique and would be welcomed by anyone who enjoys gardening.

The DUP is gorgeous. I have the directions ready and as soon as it gets warmer, I will give it a try. I want to buy more. Let me know when there is a sale. I want about 10 more. Your customers will love them. Thanks

I have a pot like this I received as a gift. I loved it so much I wanted another one but in a different color. This was sort of a hard find, but I found it here. I got the moss green planter. I was very, very. pleased. I have it hanging off a tree. I will get much enjoyment from this. I already am!!!

Have had many of these pots, terra cotta and glazed and they are amazing. Orchids. Begonias. Coleus....all thrive. My friends love to check out the upside-down approach.

So fun!

I love the down under pot and can't wait to add it to my little garden. I am a little disappointed that the small medallion fell off - I'm sure I can glue it back on!
