Complete rooting system gets great results. Basic System Kit includes a 6-pack of gel and mini-propagator with clear cover to provide humidity.

This patented new Gel was developed by Sheffield University in England. It provides the right concentration of rooting hormones, suspended in a sterile gel medium that protects cuttings from pests and pathogens. Cuttings root speedily without damping off or needing water and you can watch progress every day. This new system has received rave reviews from the Royal Horticultural Society and English Garden magazines, for ease of use and reliability.

Specially formulated for easy rooting of soft-wood cuttings and houseplants. Good subjects include: fuchsia, geranium, abutilon, begonia, clematis, ficus, hoya, kalenchoe, penstemon, dieffenbachia, schlefflera and vibernum.

Easy to use: Just poke a hole through the foil seal and insert your cutting. You can start more than one cutting in each compartment, if you wish. Enclose in the propagator and place in a bright spot away from direct sunlight. Then watch the roots sprout!

Includes a 6-pack of gel and mini propagator with clear cover to provide humidity.

Propagator measures approximately 9" long x 6" wide x 7 1/4" high

I ordered the GEL 2 Root Basic System on 2/21/11. By 3/13, I was potting my rooted impatiens! Begonia cuttnigs are taking a little longer. My only complaint is that the little plastic greenhouse is very thin and brittle. Mine has cracked up extensively, and I have had to tape it up to continue to use it.

I have just taken cuttings from a plant that I want to spread around and this product was easy to use. The only thing that would make it better is if the base was clear so you could watch the root development without having to take the cells out of the base.

The two cuttings I tried to root died in the gel even though I closely followed the directions.

I had written a fairly negative review when my Gel 2 Root-propagator Basic Sys arrived because the pot was damaged and the gel was leaking. Within a week, a new, undamaged one arrived without my specifically asking and needless to say I am delighted with the customer responsiveness. I look forward to starting my cuttings. *** Mary, since your negative review was really more of a Customer Service issue, we felt it best to rectify the situation rather than posting the review. We neglected to make you aware of the fact that a replacement was being sent but are delighted that you are much happier with your purchase now!***

Disappointing

The service was wonderful because when the product arrived, it was broken and Kinsman sent another immediately. However, the product itself was disappointing, but maybe my expectations were too high. I had hoped this medium would allow rooting without constant attention, but the gel kept drying out and ultimately, none of the plants rooted. I'll go back to propagating the old way.
