As their name suggests, these most unusual terracotta pots were designed and invented in Australia. Down Under Pots are now made in Thailand under license. Down Under Pots are all handmade, so there are frequent variations. Exact dimension and colors can change according to firing temperatures in the kilns. Surface finishes may develop fine crackling lines (crazing) over time. This is normal and enhances the character of the pots.

Small pot is 7 3/4" high x 6" diameter

Medium pot is 9 1/2" high x 7 1/2" diameter

Large pot is 11 3/4" high x 9 1/2" diameter

Foliage plants look stunning year round in kitchens, by windows - even in a bathroom. And there's a rainbow of colors to suit any decor.

The Down Under Pots are NOT frostproof and should be protected against freezing during the winter.

Planting Suggestions

Annuals: Annuals tend to grow faster, try: Lobelias, Begonias, Dianthus, Impatiens, Coleus

Perennials: Perennials will take longer to grow, but it is well worth it. Roses, Fuchsias, Geraniums and Succulents all do well. Miniature varieties are especially adaptable.

Herbs: Herbs can also be planted in the top once the bottom plant is established. Parsley, chives, Mint, Sage, Coriander, Rosemary, Lavender and Aloe Vera, to name a few.

Red flame pot down under

I was very disappointed in this purchase as the pot looks brown not red flame. I have a brown pot and wanted differentiation in this purchase. Pieces of the brown pot flaked off over careful winter storage. Although I purchased a beautiful blue and specked green years ago and they have endured the test of time, it is unlikely I will be purchasing any more of these pots down under based on my most recent two purchases.
