As their name suggests, these most unusual terracotta pots were designed and invented in Australia. Down Under Pots are now made in Thailand under license. Down Under Pots are all handmade, so there are frequent variations. Exact dimension and colors can change according to firing temperatures in the kilns. Surface finishes may develop fine crackling lines (crazing) over time. This is normal and enhances the character of the pots.

Small pot is 7 3/4" high x 6" diameter

Medium pot is 9 1/2" high x 7 1/2" diameter

Large pot is 11 3/4" high x 9 1/2" diameter

Foliage plants look stunning year round in kitchens, by windows - even in a bathroom. And there's a rainbow of colors to suit any decor.

The Down Under Pots are NOT frostproof and should be protected against freezing during the winter.

Planting Suggestions

Annuals: Annuals tend to grow faster, try: Lobelias, Begonias, Dianthus, Impatiens, Coleus

Perennials: Perennials will take longer to grow, but it is well worth it. Roses, Fuchsias, Geraniums and Succulents all do well. Miniature varieties are especially adaptable.

Herbs: Herbs can also be planted in the top once the bottom plant is established. Parsley, chives, Mint, Sage, Coriander, Rosemary, Lavender and Aloe Vera, to name a few.

I purchased 6 of these, gave a couple as gifts - then two of mine shed the glazed coating....very disappointing.

This is the second down under pot I have owned. They are FABULOUS and so easy to add a "pop" of color in any area.

I love the look of these pots. However, I had one break when the wire failed and it dropped from its stand. Very disappointing. These pots can't be stored outside during the winter months, even if empty and sheltered as the fluctuating temps will cause the glaze to crack and fall off the pot.

I owened a florist and sold hundreds of these. Since I closed my shop I wanted to buy another for myself. These are the most unique items for planting I have ever encountered. You will be the envy of your fellow gardeners. I prefer the large size. They are beautiful and will last when taken care of.
