It provides the right concentration of rooting hormones, suspended in a sterile gel medium that protects cuttings from pests and pathogens. Cuttings root speedily without damping off or needing water and you can watch progress every day. This new system has received rave reviews from the Royal Horticultural Society and English Garden magazines, for ease of use and reliability.

Specially formulated for easy rooting of soft-wood cuttings and houseplants. Good subjects include: fuchsia, geranium, abutilon, begonia, clematis, ficus, hoya, kalenchoe, penstemon, dieffenbachia, schlefflera and vibernum.

GEL TO ROOT-DISPENSER/ 1 BOTTLE

Great product. Instead of ordering kits, I buy by the bottle and use with small plastic cups (mouthwash size) that I cover with plastic wrap afer I have filled them about 2/3 full with the rooting product. Then I punch a tiny hole in the plastic wrap and insert my cutting. The plastic wrap keeps the gel from drying out. I put the cups on trays under lights, and in about 3 weeks, the cuttings are ready to transplant to larger cups filled with potting soil, where they grow on outside for another 3 weeks or so before final planting in Pamela Crawford side planting containers. Very useful for multiplying coleus, impatiens, begonias and many other types of annuals I use in bulk for containers. I could do the same thing using plain water instead of Gel2Root but it would take longer for cuttings to reach transplanting size and the plants wouldn't be as healthy.

The root gel is quite viscous and flows easily from the bottle. I took geranium cuttings and squirted the gel in the bottom of small paper cups. It solidified sufficiently to hold the cuttings. I have topped up the gel about every two days. The cuttings look fresh after 1 week, but as of yet no roots.
